Apa Arti Kartini?

April 24th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

Apa artinya menjadi seorang Ibu? Apakah karena memiliki anak? Apa artinya menjadi seorang entrepreneur?

» Read the rest of this entry «

Whats Your Worth?

That Headless Winged Statue? Do you know that Goddess? I felt like her the other day. Allow me to share…

A head hunter contacted me to offer me a ‘career opportunity’ the other day. Interesting. Not exactly about what the ‘opportunity’ is but more about: Why me? How do they know me? How can they tell I fit the profile they need? Like I said, interesting. So I called them back.

First question: “Are you still with Daily Meaning?” Yes, I said.
Second question: “Are you happy at Daily Meaning?” Yes, I actually enjoy being here. Why?
I don’t think she believed me because she keeps explaining about this ‘career opportunity’ and asked me if I were interested. Interesting. It’s like someone asks you if you are happy with your marriage, know that you are, and still wants to introduce you to this awesome person. I can’t blame her. Maybe, we lie about our happiness a lot. Maybe, we fake happiness really well.

What most people would ask: “So, what’s the position and the offer for this opportunity?”
What I answered, because well.. I am foolish: “Well, it wouldn’t be fair if I ask for the position and the offer because like I said I am happy here. And please allow me to share with you why I’m happy to be here…” » Read the rest of this entry «

Day 4: Big 5

January 6th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

“Goals are the very basis of any success. It is in fact the definition of success. The best definition of success I’ve ever found goes like this, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal.” Or in some cases the pursuit of a worthy “ideal.” It’s a beautiful definition of success. It means that anyone who’s on course toward the fulfillment of a goal is successful.”
- Earl Nightingale, Success: A Worthy Destination

I love this passage. It reminds me of Aude Aliquid Dignum, which means Dare Something Worthy. While people define success differently, it comes down to a feeling. So, the question to day is:

What are the 5 things that must happen in 2012 that would make you FEEL like it’s a success?

Think of it it’s the end of 2012 and there are 5 big chapters in your book of 2012. What would each chapter’s story about? When I’m answering this question, I want to make sure that they are BIG enough that makes me feel a little bit scared and nervous but also excited at the same time. It is scary, for me at least. But I guess I’m supposed to dare myself today. » Read the rest of this entry «

Day 3: Lesson Learned

January 5th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

When we (Mira, Amelia, Nana and I) were vacationing to Belitung, trapped at our hotel during the thunderstorm as we’re finishing our breakfast, I remember Amelia asked us this question:

What are your 3 BEST Life Lessons from the past 12 months?

Interesting. Everyone was quiet. This was an important question for me because if I didn’t learn anything in the past year, then it was just time passed – with no meaning, no worth, no growth. Yet, I find that it’s not really that easy to answer such a straightforward answer. How am I supposed to summarize 12 months in 3 things? This took me the whole day to ponder.

As I look back, here are my 3 Best Life Lessons of 2011: » Read the rest of this entry «

Day 2: Celebrate

January 4th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

What is life without celebrations, right? We look back into our lives, we remember all the bad stuff, but how often do we cherish the great ones? Well, in this day 2, my question is:

What can I celebrate from the past 12 months? What achievements, moments of pride, special moments that were beautiful, meaningful and can give me a boost of positive energy?

The answer(s), I somewhat wrote it on the last day of November, when I was freaking about when the year was about to end. Here’s my list:

1. Rode elephants through Lampung’s jungle, getting attacked by leeches. Yet, cannot wait for another adventure.

2. Started a new job with crazy group of peeps who inspire me greatly – who have become my new family and new playground.

3. Started #sexylifetips.

4. Had fun with my new Sony Nex-5 everywhere. I mean, everywhere.

5. Said goodby to Oom Chandra. » Read the rest of this entry «
